Welcome to today’s event.

Xinjiang is indeed a wonderful land, like a shining pearl of Northwest China, known for its magnificent landscapes and warm hospitalities. I am sure that Vice Governor’s introduction and the video clip just now have enriched your knowledge about this land. I myself was lucky enough to have work experience there with fond memories. Like other regions in China, Xinjiang adheres to the people-centered approach and makes tremendous efforts to fulfill people’s aspiration for a better life. Over the years, it has made unprecedented achievements in economic and social development and improvement of people’s livelihood. At present, Xinjiang enjoys stability and people there live and work in peace and happiness. Together with the rest of the country, people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang are proudly embarking on a new journey to build China into a modern socialist country.

However, certain countries and forces hate to see what Xinjiang enjoys today. Out of the sinister purposes of curbing China’s development and undermining its stability, they deliberately distort facts, wantonly slander and smear China. Some even went as far as imposing sanctions in an attempt to deprive the people in Xinjiang of their right to development and to a better life. Some politicians have concocted lies and accused China of committing the so-called “genocide” and “crimes against humanity”. Their acts are firmly opposed by the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang.

Lies repeated a thousand times are still lies. They can neither change the fact that Xinjiang is prosperous and developing, and the people of all ethnic groups enjoy a happy life, nor can they stop Xinjiang’s stride forward. All of you are most welcomed to visit Xinjiang once the situation of COVID-19 pandemic gets better, so that you can see with your own eyes the real situation and what a happy life people enjoy there.
