Chinese Astronaut Wang Yaping Sends Her greetings on the International Women’s Day to Women Around the World From the Chinese Space Station

Hello ladies,

I am Chinese astronaut Wang Yaping.

I'm on a six-month mission at the Chinese Space Station. It's a great pleasure to celebrate our International Women's Day with you all in space. Hereby, I wish ladies from all over the world a Happy International Women's Day!

As a female astronaut, I know that when I looked up at the vast starry sky outside the Chinese Space Station, hundreds of millions of Chinese female compatriots are also looking up into the deep space through my eyes. Space has never changed its environment or lowered its threshold because of the arrival of women. There is already a lot of flight data telling us that there are no significant differences in the ability of the sexes to adapt and work in space. We can all complete the same training and assessment as male astronauts at a high standard. And many physical and psychological characteristics of women can play an advantage in space, being complementary to male astronauts. This is extremely helpful for successfully completing the challenges posed by tight-space, and long-duration missions. With the advancement of aerospace technology and the development of commercial aerospace, it has become increasingly common for women to participate in spaceflight. I hope all girls with space dreams guard your vision of going to the sea of stars. One day, before you know it, when you look up, you will see that your dream is already within reach. I believe that this is not a reachless dream. As long as we work hard, we can definitely touch it.

Once, I dreamed of being a teacher.  Later, I looked forward to exploring space.  But I never thought that these two dreams would be realized at the same time in the form of space lesson. I love being a space teacher, facing the lovely children in front of the screen, including my daughter, with my lesson, planting the seeds of curiosity in their hearts and inserting the wings of flying. I will always stick to the aerospace career that I love, use my positive energy to attract our next generation, fall in love with flying, fall in love with aerospace, and inspire more women to enter the tech industry. It is conceivable that more and more women will participate in manned spaceflight missions. It will have a very important impact on the large-scale and long-term human exploration of space in the future. It will make our careers in space exploration develop flourishly and sustainably. This also helps to encourage women to pursue their dreams bravely and achieve a wonderful life.

As we can see, the Chinese Space Station is our home in space. There are many, many female colleagues who have contributed greatly to this family. Their contribution also makes our space home safer and warmer. Ladies, although our nationalities, ethnicities and occupations are different, women all over the world are making the world more vibrant and more harmonious and warmer through their own efforts. I would like to take this opportunity to thank every female for their selfless dedication. I also wish every female would pick the brightest stars for the lives and careers we love in our own starry sky.
