Mr. President,

I have the honor to deliver this joint statement on behalf of around 80 cross-regional countries.

Respect for sovereignty, independence and territorialintegrity of states and non-interference in internal affairs ofsovereign states represent basic norms governing internationalrelations. Xinjiang, Hong Kong and Tibet related issues areChina’s internal affairs. We oppose politicization of humanrights and double standards, or interference in States’ internalaffairs under the pretext of human rights.

We maintain that all parties should abide by the purposesand principles of the Charter of the United Nations, adhere tothe principles of universality, impartiality, objectivity andnon-selectivity, and respect the right of the people of each stateto choose independently the path for development in accordancewith their national conditions. All human rights should betreated with the same emphasis, with sufficient importanceattached to economic, social and cultural rights and the right todevelopment in particular.

Today human beings are faced with multiple challenges. The internationalcommunity should uphold multilateralism, strengthen solidarityand coordination, and respond jointly to global challenges, advance world peace and development, and promote and protecthuman rights.

Thank you, Mr. President.
