Welcome to this webinar “Hong Kong will see a brighter future”.

Hong Kong is a splendid pearl on the coast of the South China sea. Today the city enjoys peace and stability, where people live and work in contentment. Since its return to China in 1997, the policy of “one country, two systems”, “Hong Kong people administering Hong Kong” with a high degree of autonomy has been fully implemented. The promulgation and implementation of the Hong Kong National Security Law and the improvement of the Special Administrative Region’s electoral system usher in a historic transition in Hong Kong from chaos to order and prosperity. In a safe environment, Hong Kong residents are able to better exercise their legitimate rights and enjoy their freedoms. Hong Kong affairs are China’s internal affairs that brook no interference by any foreign forces; any attempt to meddle in Hong Kong affairs and destabilize Hong Kong will get nowhere. As the Chinese people stride with full confidence towards the second centenary goal of building a modern socialist country in all respects, China has embarked on an irreversible historical journey of national rejuvenation, a journey in which Hong Kong will have a greater role to play.

China’s central government and people across the country are following closely the Covid-19 situation in the Hong Kong SAR, and extending a helping hand to the best of their capability to Hong Kong in fighting the pandemic. Teams of Mainland’s medical professionals have arrived in Hong Kong to assist. Badly needed medical and life supplies are being sent to Hong Kong non-stop. We are confident that with the full support of the Central Government and people across China, Hong Kong will beat the pandemic. As the rainbow follows a storm, a better future beckons for Hong Kong!
