Q:The 43rd session of the Human Rights Council will be held soon. Some western media are criticizing China's policy on Xinjiang related issues. What is your comment on that? Some countries are concerned about when the High Commissioner on Human Rights  will visit China. Can you update the developments?

A: A series of counter-terrorism and deradicalization measures were taken in Xinjiang,China. These measures have significantly improved security in Xinjiang, and protected the human rights of people of all ethnic groups there. We firmly oppose the new round of smearing of China on Xinjiang related issues, by certain western media on the eve of the Human Rights Council session.

China welcomes the High Commissioner on Human Rights to visit China, including Xinjiang this year. We stay in close contact with the OHCHR on arrangements of the visit.
