Permanent Mission of China Successfully Held a Young Diplomat Dialogue on “Innovating with Youth, Transforming the Future”

On April 7th, Permanent Mission of China to the United Nations Office at Geneva held a Young Diplomats Dialogue, themed “Innovating with Youth, Transforming the Future”, at the Palais des Nations. The event was co-organization by the Permanent Missions of Switzerland and Pakistan. Young diplomats from various missions, youth officials from international organizations, representatives of non-governmental organizations, and experts in science, technology, and innovation gathered to discuss the transformative power of technological advancement, the cultivation of an innovative culture, and the critical role of youth in addressing global challenges.

Focusing on Technology and Innovation: Shaping the Future Together

The dialogue featured in-depth discussions on five key themes: “Technological Development”: Young diplomats from China Mission shared compelling case studies on how technology drives transformative change, calling for a commitment to “technology for good” and promoting international cooperation in science and technology with an open and inclusive mindset. “Innovation Culture”: Swiss diplomats highlighted how science and innovation policies, alongside multilateral frameworks, can foster global innovation. “Technology Empowering the Future”: Representatives from Chinese NGOs shared inspiring stories of young scientists dedicating themselves to research and their visions for future technological progress. “The Role of Youth”: Pakistani diplomats emphasized the unique contributions of young people in driving social, economic, and political transformation. “International Cooperation”: AI governance and neuroscience researchers from Swiss NGOs presented case studies urging stronger global collaboration in science and technology to create a supportive environment for youth innovation.

Interactive Dialogue: Building Consensus

During the interactive session, young participants lively exchanges with speakers on cutting-edge issues in technology and innovation.
