On July 5, 2026, H.E. Ambassador Shen Jian, Deputy Permanent Representative of the People's Republic of China to the United Nations Office at Geneva and other International Organizations in Switzerland, attended the launch of the Global AI Capacity Development Network.

Ambassador Shen Jian welcomed the Launch of the Global AI Capacity Development Network (hereinafter referred to as “Network”), and congratulated the Center for Global AI Innovative Governance (CGAIG) established by Fudan University as a founding member of the Network.

Ambassador Shen Jian said that China supports advancing global AI governance within the UN framework,which will ensure equal participation, joint development, and shared benefits for all countries, and make AI a new driving force of common development. More concrete and sustainable cooperation should be carried out to meet the needs of developing countries in talent training, technological application,etc. to effectively bridge the AI divide. China stands ready to work with all parties to support the Network in expanding its partnerships, and to build it into an important bridge for Global South cooperation and a strong pillar for inclusive AI development.
