Ambassador Jia Guide Meets with Executive Director of the South Centre

On February 25, H.E.Mr.Jia Guide, Permanent Representative of the People’s Republic of China to the United Nations Office at Geneva and Other International Organizations in Switzerland, met with Mr. Carlos Correa, Executive Director of the South Centre.

Ambassador Jia Guide noted that profound changes unseen in a century are accelerating, unilateralism and protectionism are on the rise, and multilateralism faces serious challenges. China is actively implementing the four Global Initiatives in Geneva, and welcomes South Centre’s participation in activities related to those Initiatives. South Centre is an important think tank of developing countries, and has been providing policy recommendations for developing countries to address global challenges. China looks forward to further strengthening cooperation with the South Centre.

Executive Director Correa noted that the South Centre has supported developing countries through policy research, negotiation support, and technical cooperation in the areas of sustainable development, health and intellectual property, etc. The South Centre actively supports the Initiatives advocated by China and stands ready to enhance cooperation with China across various fields.
