On March 9, 2026, H.E. Mr. Jia Guide, Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations Office at Geneva and other International Organizations in Switzerland, met with H.E. Mr. Abdulla Abdullatif Abdulla, Permanent Representative of Bahrain. 

Ambassador Jia Guide stated that, the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Bahrain has developed rapidly in recent years, yielding fruitful results in practical cooperation. At present, the world faces numerous challenges, and multilateralism is confronting strong headwinds. China is willing to work with Bahrain and other GCC countries to promote regional and global peace and stability, and jointly improve global governance.

Ambassador Abdulla stated that China is an important partner of Bahrain and the GCC. Bahrain attaches great importance to developing relations with China. Bahrain and China have cooperated closely in various fields, including high-level interactions, and economic and cultural exchanges. Bahrain is willing to strengthen coordination with China on the Geneva platform to jointly safeguard multilateralism.
