On March 11, 2026, H.E. Mr. Jia Guide, Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations Office at Geneva and other International Organizations in Switzerland, met with David Fernandez Puyana, Permanent Observer of the University for Peace to the UN Office in Geneva, exchanging views on issues including international and regional security situation and bilateral cooperation.

Ambassador Jia Guide highlighted that the world enters a turbulent period, with the regional conflicts arising one after another. Guided by the Global Governance Initiative, China stands ready to work with all parties, including the University for Peace, to make greater contributions to safeguarding world peace and development and improving global governance.

Puyana introduced the functions and positioning of the University for Peace and its cooperation with China. Puyana also commended the Global Governance Initiative put forward by China and China’s important role in promoting peace and dialogue, and expressed willingness to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with China.
