H.E. Mr. Jia Guide Met with H.E. Mr. Kumar Iyer, Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

On March 17, 2026, H.E. Mr. Jia Guide, Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations Office at Geneva and other International Organizations in Switzerland, met with H.E. Mr. Kumar Iyer, Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to UNOG, to exchange views on global governance and international hotspot issues, and in particular, reforms and negotiations in the field of global health.

Ambassador Jia emphasized that given the current complex and volatile international landscape, China and the United Kingdom should jointly shoulder our the responsibility as major countries by advocating and practicing true multilateralism. China is willing to work with the United Kingdom, under the strategic guidance of the leaders of our two countries, to strengthen coordination and cooperation through the Geneva platform and contribute to building a more just and equitable global governance system.

Ambassador Iyer stated that the United Kingdom values the important role China plays in international affairs and is willing to deepen multilateral cooperation with China across various fields, thereby making contributions to improving global governance in areas such as public health and addressing global challenges.
