On April 21, 2026, H.E. Mr. Jia Guide, Permanent Representative of the People's Republic of China to the United Nations Office at Geneva and Other International Organizations in Switzerland, met with H.E. Mr. Sovann Ke, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
Ambassador Jia stated that the ironclad friendship between China and Cambodia has withstood the test of the changing international landscape, and is growing stronger over time. As the world enters a new period of turbulence and transformation, with global challenges intertwined and compounded, China stands ready to take the strategic consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries as the guidance and the implementation of the four Global Initiatives as an opportunity to strengthen cooperation with Cambodia on the multilateral platform in Geneva, and jointly uphold multilateralism.
Ambassador Sovann Ke noted Cambodia highly values the traditional friendship between the two countries and appreciates China's long-standing support and assistance. Cambodia supports the four Global Initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping, commends China for firmly upholding multilateralism and playing a key role in global governance, and stands ready to deepen multilateral cooperation with China to jointly safeguard an international environment for peace and development.
