H.E.Mr. Jia Guide Met with the Permanent Representative of Eritrea

On June 25, 2026, H.E. Mr. Jia Guide, Permanent Representative of the People's Republic of China to the United Nations Office at Geneva and other International Organizations in Switzerland, met with H.E. Ms. Sophia Tesfamariam Yohannes, Permanent Representative of the State of Eritrea.

Ambassador Jia Guide pointed out that over the past 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Eritrea, the two countries have consistently trusted and supported each other firmly. China appreciates Eritrea's independent foreign policy and has consistently supported Eritrea in safeguarding its sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, opposing external interference. China is willing to maintain coordination and cooperation with Eritrea, strengthen cooperation in multilateral fields, deepen China-Eritrea strategic partnership, and achieve common development.

Ambassador Yohannes stressed that Eritrea-China relations have a long history, solid friendship, and sound cooperation. She expressed sincere gratitude to China for speaking up for Eritrea in multilateral forums such as the United Nations, upholding justice, and safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of developing countries. Eritrea stands ready to strengthen solidarity and cooperation with China on multilateral platforms and jointly champion multilateralism.
