On June 11, the Permanent Mission of China participated in the Asian Cultural Festival jointly organized by the Asian Ambassadors’ Wives Association Geneva (AAWAG) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). Centered on the theme of “Asian Jewelry” the event aimed to showcase Asia’s rich cultural heritage and promote mutual learning among civilizations and friendly cooperation. Nearly 30 Asian permanent missions and international organizations took part, with all proceeds going to charitable causes.

The Chinese Mission actively contributed to various segments of the event, including a fashion show, cultural performances, and charity sales of handicrafts and food. The Mission presented the depth of traditional Chinese culture, displayed the vitality of modern China, and promoted the Global Civilization Initiative, winning widespread compliments.
Young Chinese diplomats took to the runway in Hanfu, Qipao, and ethnic minority attire, elegantly embodying the essence of Eastern aesthetics. Traditional accessories such as buyao, hairpins, and elaborate necklaces shimmered under the lights, drawing admiration from the audience. The fan dance “Wanjiang” captivated viewers with its perfect blend of form, movement, and spirit, earning enthusiastic applause.

The Mission also featured top Chinese cultural brands in the charity sale, including products from the Palace Museum. Popular items such as the treasure-flower bracelets, bird-and flower--themed pocket mirrors, and butterfly earrings were very popular. Classic Chinese food like steamed buns, mapo tofu, and hot-and-sour soup delighted visitors with their rich colors, aromas, and flavors. On-site screenings of China’s national image videos and documentaries on traditional clothing added a stunning visual experience. China’s strong support and active participation was highly appreciated by the organizers.
