H. E. Mr. Jia Guide Met with Permanent Representative of Sierra Leone

On July 22, 2026, H.E. Mr. Jia Guide, Permanent Representative of the People's Republic of China to the United Nations Office at Geneva and other International Organizations in Switzerland, met with H.E. Mr. Lansana Gberie, Permanent Representative of Sierra Leone.

Ambassador Jia noted that China-Sierra Leone friendship is time-honored and ever-stronger. Guided by strategic leadership of the two leaders, our two countries firmly support each other, cooperate efficiently in economic and social development, and maintain close coordination, solidarity and cooperation on international affairs. Taking the 55th anniversary of diplomatic ties as an opportunity, China stands ready to work with Sierra Leone to further strengthen cooperation on the Geneva platform, deepen the China-Sierra Leone comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, safeguard the interests of developing countries at large, and uphold true multilateralism.

Gberie expressed sincere gratitude for China’s long‑term support for Sierra Leone’s economic and social development. The two countries always respect each other, trust one another as equals and pursue win‑win outcomes. Committed to the One‑China principle, Sierra Leone attaches great importance to its comprehensive strategic partnership with China. Sierra Leone is ready to consolidate political mutual trust, step up multilateral coordination in Geneva and advance common development and prosperity for both countries.
