Recently, H.E. Mr. Shen Jian, Deputy Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations Office at Geneva and other International Organizations in Switzerland and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary for Disarmament Affairs, paid farewell calls on Ms. Tatiana Valovaya, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva and Secretary-General of the Conference on Disarmament, as well as heads or senior representatives of the World Health Organization,the International Committee of the Red Cross, the South Centre, the United Nations Institute for Training and Research, the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research, the NATO Liaison Office in Geneva and the University for Peace.
Ambassador Shen expressed his appreciation for the strong support extended by the relevant international organizations over the years. He commended them for upholding multilateralism, deepening exchanges and cooperation, and making important contributions to building a fairer and more equitable global governance system. He stated that China would continue to be guided by the vision of building a community with a shared future for humanity and the Four Global Initiatives, further deepen cooperation with all parties, and contribute Chinese wisdom and strength to addressing global challenges.
Representatives of the international organizations congratulated Ambassador Shen on the successful completion of his tenure and expressed their readiness to continue strengthening exchanges and cooperation with China through the Geneva platform and jointly uphold multilateralism.
