On August 25, 2026, Ambassador Jia Guide, Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations Office at Geneva and other international organizations in Switzerland, met with H.E. Ambassador Ricardo de Souza Monteiro, permanent representative of Brazil.

Ambassador Jia Guide noted that, under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, China and Brazil have continued to make new progress in building a community with a shared future for a more just world and a more sustainable planet, setting an example of solidarity and cooperation among countries of the Global South. The two countries have worked closely together on the international stage, demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility and serving as a key force for maintaining stability and promoting development in today’ s world. China stands ready to work with Brazil to deepen cooperation on the Geneva platform, jointly advance a more just and equitable global governance system, and uphold the legitimate rights and interests of the Global South.

Ambassador Ricardo said that China and Brazil are important forces in the Global South. Brazil stands ready to work with China to implement the important common understandings reached by the two heads of state on the Geneva platform, uphold multilateralism and free trade, and promote international equity and justice.
